Talk Sport and PokerStars Offer Chance for Free UKIPT seat
Talk Sport the UK chat station has teamed up with PokerStars to provide an opportunity to win a free seat in the UKIPT Manchester leg and with it the opportunity to win £100,000.
The UKIPT (United Kingdom and Ireland Poker Tour) which is sponsored by PokerStars is the most prestigious tour in the UK. The second leg will take place in the G Casino in Manchester from 11th to 14th February 2010. In total there are ten legs.
To win the free seat it is necessary to compete in one of seven Freeroll Tournaments which run every day from Monday 1st February to Sunday 7th February. There will be a final event on Monday 8th February in which the nine top players from each of the daily Freerolls will compete for a total of three free UKIPT seats. In addition to the free seat, the prize includes travel and hotel expenses of £500.
Presenters from the radio station will also be taking part in the Freerolls, and there is a £100 bounty on each of them. This means that any oplayer eliminating a Talk Sport presenter will receive a prize of £100.
To enter you simply need to register via Talk Sport and there is no need to pay any deposit money. The tournaments start at 8.30 pm and you need to be signed in at 8.29 pm at the latest in order to play. Of course, you can also qualify through the various satellites available through the PokerStars website but of course in that case you will need to set up a PokerStars account.
The first leg of the UKIPT was held in Galway, Ireland and was won by Padraig Parkinson, a local player, who collected £125,000.
