Durrrr Challenge Resumes and Tom Dwan Increases Gap

The famous Durrrr challenge has lain dormant for several months due to demanding alternative schedules for the current players Tom Dwan and his challenger Patrik Antonius. Over recent months they have both been involved in some serious action, but at last they have found time to continue with the challenge.
To remind you what it’s all about, Tom Durrrr Dwan challenged any player to play 50,000 hands of no limit Texas Hold’em or Pot Limit Omaha with minimum blinds of $200/$400 on four tables simultaneously. Who ever is ahead at the end will be the winner. If it is Dwan then the opponent must pay him £500,000 but if the opponent wins then Dwan will pay him $1,500,000.
The first person to take up the challenge was Patrik Antonius, and on the side lines waiting for their turns are Phil Ivey and David Benyamine.
When the challenge hit the doldrums some months ago Dwan was clearly ahead with about half of the hands having been played. Now they have resumed play, Dwan has increased the gap.
A week ago they played 1,256 hands of $200/$400 pot-limit Omaha. Some of the pots were quite substantial and Antonius moved into a substantial session lead of $230,000, but subsequently Dwan won a huge pot of nearly $119,000 which cut his session loss to $58,781.
The following night they played again clocking up a total of 892 hands. This time the river flowed in Dwans’s direction and he won about £120,000 in the session.
The total number of hands played are 31,912 and Dwan has increased his winning margin to around $1,078,000, though there is plenty more action in the pipeline and with players like this anything can happen.
