Download a Song and You Can Get a Share of Poker Pro’s WSOP Winnings

Jason Mershon is a poker professional, though by all accounts not a too successful one, certainly if his tournament winnings are anything to go by as they amount to little over $2,000 over the last six years. No doubt he has done better at cash games. Despite this he has come up with an excellent idea to fund his entry into the 2010 WSOP Main Event and at the same time to share his winnings with the general public. He has recorded a song and it is available for download; furthermore, he will share his WSOP winnings with the first 15,000 to download the song.

Given his winnings in professional poker, it was obviously necessary for Mershon to have some sort of alternative day job, and what has occupied his time has been an involvement with the entertainment industry. He is now hoping that his latest song will prove to be a breakthrough success. The song is called “Playing Poker for a Living” and much of it can be heard on his website. However, he has now issued a special edition that lasts for a full six minutes. This edition is called the Casino Mix Version and the first 15,000 can be purchased for only $1.49.

The revenue generated will bankroll Mershon for the Main Event, and if he makes the final table then half of his winnings he will share with the 15,000 who have downloaded his song. If he does well at the WSOP then those adventurous enough to be included in these 15,000 people will have made a startling investment; possibly a share of around $5,000,000 which is about $330 each, which is hardly a fortune but not a bad return on investment.

There are of course risks: first you must download the song which means that you will need to listen to at least some of it, which could be aesthetically damaging to the listener; second, if less that 15,000 people download it then the offer is null and void and he won’t be going to the WSOP; thirdly, he just might not make the final table.

Still, at least you will have the song…
