40 Billionth Hand Played on PokerStars
Forty billion is a very large number. Forty billion people is about five times the world population, in miles it is about ten times the size of the solar system and in pounds sterling though in pound notes it is less than half the amount that our current government owes. It is also almost the number of poker hands that have been played at PokerStars as that number will soon be surpassed.
Forty billion poker hands can’t be taken lightly, and PokerStars has no intention of doing so. In order to celebrate this astounding event the site is staging a number of exciting events, all of which feature the numbers 4 and 40 and these will continue until the final count of 40 billion is reached.
Next Friday the 21st February PokerStars will host the all time record Sunday Million with a guaranteed prize pool of $4 million and first prize will be a guaranteed 41 million.
There will be a number of cash games in which on every millionth hand dealt players will receive a prize of $40 for each v.i.p. poker point that they have gained over their previous 40 hands along with a bonus poker point so that nobody is empty handed.
The countdown to 40 billion began on the 36.6 billionth hand. No doubt many players will want to be playing when this ticks up to 40 billion as anybody playing at the table where that hand is dealt will receive $400 for every player point earned over the last forty hands.
There are also special prizes for sit and go players which include a share in $40,000 prizes and there are $1,000Freerolls for play money players who deposit money using the special code F40.
As an interesting side note, it was just about one year ago when PokerStars launched a promotion based on the twenty fifth billion hand – so a lot of hands have been played over the last twelve months.
