The Day 2 of the European poker Tour (EPT) that is taking place in Prague currently was certainly an antidote to the freezing temperatures outside; the action was so hot it came close to meltdown. The day started with the 243 players who had made it through days 1a and 1b but by close of play only 76 of them remained.

Andrew Pantling, the big chip winner from day 1a along with Ilkka Koskinen the chip leader from day 1b were both eliminated. Sebastian Ruthenberg the third highest chip holder was also eliminated and all went before the start of the evening session.

The chip leader going into day 3 is Csaba Toth from Hungary. He ended up with 561,900 chips. In second place was Fabian Gentile from Belgium with 413,300 chips followed by Stig Rossen from Denmark  (411,200 chips), Kristoffer Thorsson from Sweden  (380,400 chips) and Roberto Romanello from the UK  (349,200 chips).

Csaba Toth is one of the new breed of poker players who like to wear hoodies at the poker table to disguise any potential tells. He has been doing reasonably well in live tournament play and his best performance was in the 2008 Monte Carlo Grand Final.  During his rise to second highest chip leader, Fabien Gentile had made the bluff of the day which resulted in Bertrand Grospellier folding pocket kings. The man in third place Stig Rossen is better known for his music than his poker. He is known as the man with the big voice and he frequently performs in musical theatre, along with classical and popular musical formats.

Also amongst the survivors were Peter Eastgate with 302,000 chips, Bertrand Grospeller with 244,000 chips and Annette Obrestad with 108,000 chips.

The total prize money is €1,900,000 and the first prize will be €500,000.
