Paddy Power Poker Announces Poker for the Homeless March Madness Festival

Paddy Power and The Jackpot Club have announced the second Poker for the Homeless March Madness Festival which will take place from the 12th to the14th of March in the Jackpot Club in Dublin, Ireland.
This poker packed weekend gets off to a start at 9.00 pm on Friday March 12 with the first event which is a no-limit Hold’em Freezeout with a €100 buy-in and 20% of the total prize pool will be donated to a charity for the homeless.
The charity is the Capuchin Day Centre in Dublin. This centre is run by Brother Kevin who provides a lifetime for homeless people. Every day it provides food for over six hundred disadvantaged people along with providing nearly one thousand food parcels to Dubliners who find themselves to be living on the threshold of poverty.
The first prize is a €3,500 buy in to the Paddy Power Poker Irish Open which will take place in the Burlington Hotel from the 2nd to the 5th April. In acknowledgement of the fact that the Cheltenham Festival is getting close and that as far as the Irish are concerned this festival, which coincides with St Patrick’s Day, is the horseracing jump festival of the year, a preview of it will be shown. Two top and well known horse racing experts will provide the benefits of their inside knowledge on the horses to tip winners. In addition, a virtual horse race will be staged.
On the following day there will be a Freeroll cash game final with a prize pool of €25,000. In order to qualify it is necessary to play cash games for at least fifty hours in the club before 12th March.
On Sunday 14th March there is a no-limit Hold’em team event. Teams will consist of four players and the buy in will be €400 + €40. The registration fee of €40 will go to the charity. The top three teams will receive 60% of the total prize money and the rest will be paid to individual players who compete in the final table.
Last year a total of €10,000 went to the charity and it is hoped that this figure will be exceeded this year.
