Andy Murray - French Open and Wimbledon

Sadly Andy Murray was knocked out in the quarter finals of the ATP Madrid by Davis Ferrer, his current nemesis, with a score line of 7-5, 6-3. Murray fans might gain some glimmer of hope from the fact that Murray had performed reasonably well during this tough dual and had at one stage managed to come back with three wins when the score had been 5-2 against him. Andy Murray, who has just turned 23, is now banking his hopes on the French Open where he is seeded fourth.
Last year Murray reached the quarter-finals of this event where he lost in four sets to Fernando Gonzalez who was seeded twelfth. Even if Murray does make it to the latter stages of the tournament, with both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal playing some of their best tennis of all time, it is difficult to see how Murray might find a way round them
It has been announced that the Queen will attend Wimbledon for the first time in thirty three years. The last time was when Virginia Wade won the Women’s Title in 1977. Had Murray made it into the 2009 finals, the Queen would have attended the match. This year she might have a better chance of seeing him play – she is vising Wimbledon during the first week when Murray should still be in the competition.
Early betting odds on Wimbledon have Roger Federer as the favourite at 6/4 followed by Rafael Nadal at 4/1. Andy Murray is the third favourite at 29/5.
Murray is not so well favoured for the French Open where at best he is the sixth favourite with odds of 30/1 with Paddy Power. In contrast, the odds on the title going to Nadal are 2/5 with Sky Bet and for Federer they are 7/2.
