Starting this weekend is the 6th leg of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour. This will be held at the G Casino in Luton and includes along with the major event a full range of side events. The buy in for the main event is £1070 and days one and two will be held on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th August. Last year the winner was Richard Gryko who won nearly £90,000.

The GUKPT championship is currently being led by Alli Mallu with 258 points and close behind him is Stephen Holden with 215 points, but there is still plenty to play for. Points are earned by finishing in the top 18 at a GUKPT main event or in the top ten in a GUKPT side event. Prizes range from the top prize of £20,000 to £1,000 for the ninth place. All players when finish up between tenth and twentieth on the leader board will receive £500.

There will be a super satellite for the main event on Friday 6th August with a buy in of £50. Side events include a £150 no limit Hold’em on Saturday 7th August, a £100 rebuy on the Sunday, a £200 Freezeout on the Monday, a £500 Freezeout on the Tuesday, a £300 Omaha Freezeout and a £200 Hold’em Freezeout on the Wednesday, a £100 Freezeout on the Thursday, a £100 Freezeout on the Friday, a £300 Freezeout on the Saturday and finally on the Sunday a £250 Bounty Tournament.

There is still time to qualify for GUKPT through online satellites which include a Freeroll feeder along with a number of £50 feeders. Following the Luton Leg, next comes Brighton on 11th to19th September followed by Blackpool on the 6th to 14th November. The Grand Final will be held in London on the 18th to the 28th November and the Champion of Champions in Coventry on the 1st to 5th December.
