Australia New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT) and European Poker Tour Tallinn

The Australia New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT) has now completed Day 2 and only 42 players have made it into Day 3. At the beginning of the day the chip leader had been a player who calls himself Darko, but he soon lost his lead. Last year’s winner was eliminated early on along with Tony Hachem who is top of the Player of the Year leader board.
On Day 1A 137 players entered and another 150 entered on Day 1B, and these are record levels of entries for any poker tournament in Queensland. The main event buy in is $2,500 which means the total prize pool topped $717,500. All of the top 32 players will end up in the money and the first prize is $182,965.
The winner of the day was Nick Wong from Hong Kong. After having been the chip leader for most of the afternoon he ended up taking the largest pot of the tournament to date with a pair of Kings and a pair of Queens against a pair of Queens and a pair of Tens. He ended the day with 376,500 chips. In second place was Aaron Benton with 271,000 chips followed by David Steicke with 170,000 and Hamataj with 153,000.
On the other side of the world Poker Stars The European Poker Tour (EPT) Tallin leg is taking place at the Tallin Swiss Hotel which is the tallest building in the city. Tallin is Estonia’s capital city though it is quite small for a capital with a population of less than half a million. Fortunately for the players the summer temperatures are comfortable, but in winter they can fall to below -30C. 420 players entered the tournament and the top prize is $400,000.
