UKIPT Moves to Edinburgh and Joins the Fringe

The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is in full swing, and if you enjoy some avant garde music, comedy and theatre, then there is no festival in Europe that can come anywhere near to the one which is taking place in this beautiful city. The Festival has 32,000 individual performances and 2,000 different shows which are staged in 250 different venues; and that does not include the street theatre, jugglers and musicians. But this year it is even better than ever, for this year and for the very first time, the United Kingdom and Irish Poker Tour (UKIPT) is staging an event in Edinburgh.

UKIPT Edinburgh, which is sponsored by PokerStars, is taking place in the famous Corn Exchange and begins today, 19th August and it will last for four days.

The main event has a buy in of £550 and lasts over four days which include two first days. Every day is packed full of side events with buy ins as little as £50, so if you are around Edinburgh and enjoy a little poker, then why not spend some time there even if you can’t make the main event.

As there will be no cash registrations at the venue (this is because of local bye-laws), if you intend to take part and are not yet registered, then you will need to pre-register before turning up. You can do this online through the PokerStars website or alternatively through any Grosvenor or G Casino. If you have a PokerStars account, then you can use this to register at the venue.

Also you should note that during the festival it can be quite difficult to find good and reasonable accommodation, but please don’t let this put you off. There are always hotel rooms to be found if you make the effort.
