The Hilton Metropole hotel in London was the base for the 3 day charity poker extravaganza and attracted more than a few well known names in the poker world, including Julian Thew and Tim Hong Wong but in the end it was student Arnoud van der Werf who walked away with the top prize of £20,000.

PokerStars is just as well known for raising funds for good causes as they are for their online poker action and this time they raised money by donating £10 from every buy-in to the cancer research charity. Not only that, but the generous poker company also matched the total raised.

Of course, there was plenty of poker action on the felt but it was relative newcomer Arnoud van der Werf, a 22-year-old student, who managed to play his way to the top prize. He won after a tough three-handed duel with Brit Adem Salih and Malaysian player Tim Hong Wong. It was a good tournament for the young player and he secured his biggest win to date.

Brit Adem walked away with £9,000 of prize funds while Tim left the tournament £13,000 better off. They faced off stiff competition from the likes of Joeri Zandvilet, Team PokerStars pro Julian Thew and Nick Wealthall.
