Sam Trickett enters the Global Poker Index Top Ten
Sam Trickett is quickly becoming one of the hottest names in online poker; his growing reputation has been done no harm by his latest surge in global rankings...
Trickett has been in phenomenal form as of late, enabling him to earn himself a reputation as one of poker's biggest future prospects; this has been proven by his recent entry into the revered 'Top Ten' of the Global Poker Index. The Global Poker Index is a list that is regularly released which takes into account a number of factors in deciding how well a player has been performing on the professional poker live tournament circuit; it then utilises this formula to calculate player's rankings and standings in relation to one another – the results of the Global Poker Index take into account a player's results from over the course of six half-year periods.
Following several recent stunning performances, Trickett has finally made his way into the Global Poker Index Top Ten; Trickett managed to climb a whopping six rankings during this publication of the index, putting him straight in at number seven. Trickett's massive leap up the rankings was down to his success in the 2011 Partouche Poker Tour Main Event, which finished last week – Trickett was able to hold onto his lead for the majority of the event, despite some very stiff competition from his opponents. Trickett made his way into the Global Poker Index's Top Ten by displacing Will “The Thrill” Failla, who now sits just outside of the top spots at number eleven.
Currently occupying the top three positions in the Global Poker Index are Jason Mercier (at number three), Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier (at number two) and Erik Seidel (holding the number one position).
