32Red Poker

Over recent days we have been following the startling career of the professional poker player Liv Boeree. We reported on her wining the EPT in San Remo and on her progress towards day 2 of the EPT Final which is taking place at Monte Carlo. We, like much of the popular press, have also been impressed by her career as a television presenter, a glamorous model, and her degree in Astrophysics. Sadly we must now report that she was eliminated from the tournament during the official second day, Day 2.

She said that she was disappointed as would anyone be when they left a tournament before they thought they should. She said that it was standard in poker. She had been getting low on chips and her opponents had a better hand than hers.

She pointed out that in poker tournaments like the EPT only around ten percent of the players end up winning any money. She had been hoping that she was on a roll after winning at San Remo last week but it was not to be. Despite going out, she said that she had enjoyed herself. She also made the best of the day by winning a seat to another satellite tournament taking place later in the week.

Commenting on some other people present at the EPT she said that one of the benefits was all the famous people whom she had met through poker, and mentioned Teddy Sheringham the footballer who is still in the tournament. She said that he was a great player. She also mentioned Boris Becker who was also there.
The EPT Monte Carlo is down to only 116 players as we head for Day 3. In the lead is Nick Schulman from the USA who has 742,000 chips. He is followed by another American, David Sesso who has 642,500 chips. The highest placed Brit is Matt Perrins who is in fourth place with 568,000 chips.
